Inspired...

Ever listen to the song "Everone's Free To Wear Sunscreen"? Jess happened to be listening ot the Soundtrack for Romeo and Juliet and I heard it this morning. Well it's full of little statements that make a lot of sense to me. Listen to it... it will make you think... you'll probably try to think of your own lines of advice for others.

So if I could offer one piece of advice for today, it would be:

In 46 days we will choose the next leader of our country. Each and every day we can make choices that affect now and choices that will affect later. Today I hope to affect understanding. I have my own religious beliefs, my own moral beliefs, and my own vision for what would make this country great. However I need to realize that others have the same thoughts. One of the biggest problems our society faces is this idea that we cannot dialogue because one of us is a Democrat the other a Republican, one of us is a Liberal and the other is Conservative, Christian or not, believe in a higher power or don't. My mentor at work would remind me of these strange things called "invisable walls." That's what divides us and makes it hard for us to talk about the issues that govern our life. I certainly don't agree with things other people believe in, but I know today and over a long time to come I need to be understanding. Great things have come from great debates of differently minded people. Remember that issues are as important as morals. Vote on both not just on one.

Until next time...

Cam
